Gasly's path to Formula One began in Normandy, where he started karting at age six at a local track in Anneville-Ambourville. By age 13 he left Rouen for Le Mans to pursue competitive racing. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2014 and made his F1 debut with Toro Rosso at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix, replacing Daniil Kvyat. After a full season with Toro Rosso in 2018, he was promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2019 but was demoted after the Hungarian Grand Prix, replaced by Alexander Albon. That same year he achieved his maiden podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix with Toro Rosso. In 2020, driving for the re-branded AlphaTauri, Gasly took his maiden victory at the Italian Grand Prix. He moved to Alpine for 2023, scoring his first podium for the team at the Dutch Grand Prix, and repeated this at the rain-affected São Paulo Grand Prix in 2024 and the Monaco Grand Prix in 2026.

The defining moment of Gasly's career came at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix. Driving for AlphaTauri, he crossed the line first at Monza, securing his maiden Formula One victory. It was a triumph that echoed his GP2 Series championship win in 2016 with Prema, where he beat Antonio Giovinazzi in a close title battle. Gasly had already proven his resilience after being demoted from Red Bull in 2019, only to return with Toro Rosso and claim his first podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix that same year. His move to Alpine in 2023 brought another milestone: a podium at the Dutch Grand Prix, followed by podiums at the 2024 São Paulo Grand Prix and the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. As of the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, Gasly has one race win, three fastest laps and six podiums in Formula One.
